Sharp Things
Sharp things in the desert - ripping beak, talons, ocotillo spines. A good day for us to be up near the top of the food chain, I'd not want to be whatever it's eyeing.
On the Esperanza Trail, making our way back down from the ridge.

Six Days Seven Nights, New Beetle - Day 4: Saguaro National Park West, Tucson Mountain District
We made a nice loop hike up the Hugh Norris trail, down the Esperanza Trail, and back around via Dobe Wash and Bajada Wash.
That arctic weather that's covering the eastern and central US now? It was chilling New Mexico while we were in Arizona. We were glad to be there!
Sharp-Lobed Hepatica

There are three bracts below each flower. It grows in rich, moist woods.
